Ace the chocolate cake with a vaporous, light wipe and rich buttercream filling. It's basic enough for an evening tea yet unique enough for a gathering as well 

Ingredients :

For the cake 

  • 200g brilliant caster sugar 
  • 200g unsalted margarine 
  • , relaxed in addition to extra for the tins 
  • 4 enormous eggs 
  • 200g self-raising flour 
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder 
  • 1 tsp heating powder 
  • ½ tsp vanilla concentrate 
  • 2 tbsp milk 

For the buttercream 

100g milk chocolate 

, hacked 

200g spread 

, mollified 

400g icing sugar 

5 tbsp cocoa powder 

2 tbsp milk 

For the chocolate shards (discretionary) 

50g dull chocolate 

25g milk chocolate 

25g white chocolate 

Directions

  1. Warmth stove to 190C/170C fan/gas 5. Margarine the base and sides of two 20cm round sandwich tins and line the bases with preparing material. 
  2. In a huge bowl, beat together 200g brilliant caster sugar, 200g relaxed unsalted spread, 4 enormous eggs, 200g self-raising flour, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp preparing powder, ½ tsp vanilla concentrate, 2 tbsp milk and a spot of salt until pale. 

  3. Separation the blend between the readied tins. Heat for 20 mins or until a stick embedded into the focal point of the cake confesses all. 

  4. Leave to cool in the tin for 10 mins, at that point turn out onto a wire rack to cool totally. 
  5. For the buttercream, put 100g hacked milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl and soften in the microwave, blending each 30 secs. Leave the softened chocolate to cool for 5 mins. 
  6. Crush 200g relaxed margarine and 400g icing sugar together with a fork, at that point change to a wooden spoon or electric blenders, in the event that you have them.
